o hi

bonejangle here, I'm going to describe the Ziggurat project a bit.

We're doing a recreation of the Great Ziggurat of Ur, which is an old-ish Sumerian construction. Here's a link to the Wikipedia article, which also has pictures. I should also give credit to a user of the Minecraft Forums, Felix_Casus, who has already built one. I've drawn a bit of inspiration from it (mostly just getting an idea of lengths and widths of the tiers and whatnot, in the end I think his/hers will be bigger than the one I'm building) and I'd be remiss not to credit him/her. Here's a link to the thread.

We're planning on building it more or less 1:1, which 64m long, 46m wide, and 30m tall (this isn't including the long stairs in the front of the building, at least in our version). I had first thought of building it in sandstone, which is probably the closest match in terms of color and texture, but that's waaaay too much effort for how much I care about it (plus I don't want to take all the sand on the server). So, we're going to go ahead and do it in cobble. It's not the prettiest block unless you havea different texture pack, but it'll do.

We've started construction already, and have built the basics of the front facade and the walls of the base. It's wiped us out of cobblestone already, so the rest will wait while we shore up the numbers. The idea is to get the basic structure finished, then go through and add the details later. I haven't decided what to put in it, and if it were just me, it'd probably just remain empty through laziness.

On another note, I'm going to put up some other pictures of the electrified creeper we encountered. I was pretty surprised to see one so soon after the patch, but given the sheer amount of mobs we had been dealing with and the frequency of thunderstorms we'd gotten, I suppose it was only a matter of time. I lured it around and sacrificed myself to see how large of a crater it would make, since I'd heard they were more powerful. I was not disappointed. I'm kicking myself for not taking before/after pictures of the area, but oh well. Here's the little fella now:

Here's the creeper, all haloed in electrified glory. Behold his radiance! Tremble in fear before his really big explosion capabilities!

Clearing the Area

Hello out there! This is NH4 here, to give you a taste of our new project! I won't go into much detail here (I'll leave that to Bonejangle) but, I hope to provide whitty commentary and statistics of the project!

So far, we have been clearing the ground... which, let me just say, took a LONG TIME.

Time taken: 2.5 hours
Dirt mined: 8,632
Cobble mined: 3,924
Sheep punched: 1 pink, 2 brown, too many white
Wolves tamed: 12
Times laughed: At least 1 hr cumulative...

Stone picks: 34
Iron picks: 7
Stone shovels: 82
Diamond shovels: 2

And now for some pictures..

.
Here is a glimpse of the area cleared...

And the chests taken!

Also, I want to add a special little section in my posts... Gitches and Bugs!

This isn't really a bug or glitch... but a picture of the infamous electric creeper! This was so amazing... I walk out of the house, and notice... this thing on the roof, slowly spinning. Amazing, I quick called the others to come see... We couldn't believe our eyes! Then, bonejangle lured it away to see it exploade... This thing blew up with at least 2-3 times the power of a normal creeper! The hole became our second basement.

This was a funny situation; I saw a label, just above ground... And so, thinking it would be a cave or something, I dug down. What I find instead is a dead, glitched skeleton... completely buried! It felt like an archeological dig. Unfortunitally, no one else could see it... they all thought I was crazy!

This one was a floating, glowing, vibrating TNT box. Not much to say, except that it was rather amusing...

That's all for today, hope you enjoyed!

Hello Blockish World!

Hello All!
This is Stephmiko writing this post! So through this blog, we are going to write about our Minecraft adventures! The three of us! (Stephmiko, Bonejangle, and NH4). We are playing on our great server and building a huge house and creations around it. With each blog, we are going to add pictures, quotes, stats, and our funny mishaps that center around our projects.

So far, we have made a wonderful house that includes: 1 main floor, 3 bedrooms, 1 farm, a mineshaft (which includes our several layers of mines), 2 basements, 1 mushroom farm, a bridge, cemetery for our departed doggy friends (mostly mine), a floating house, an attic, and a doggy basement which currently has 13 dogs (all of NH4). Then surrounding all of this we have made a huge wall because for the longest time we were constantly getting killed by all the creatures of the night... esp creepers... in fact that is why we call ourselves creepers.

At first we were going to call this blog the creepers ridge but decided against it. We had such a problem with creepers that during a lightning storm, the lightning shocked a creeper, making it electrified (again telling of the name we called ourselves). And to all of the non-beleivers out there, the creepers does become blue and makes a huge crater... in fact that is why we made a second basement (We couldn't waste a perfectly good hole). Haha :)

Some more creeper stories: When we were first getting started like I said before, everywhere I would turn, there would be a creeper... This one time I popped out of our house after a night of trying to re-build our house when 4 creepers swarmed me. I survived the first two, but once the final ones came for me, there was no chance... It made a huge crater! From all of these experiences, its clear why we had to make a wall... We think we are by a spawn-er or something.

Some of our recent activities, me and Bonejangle, went to a nearby cave to discover a huge cave system... and when I say huge I mean it. There were 3 mob spawn-ers! (2 zombie and 1 skeleton). We found so much iron in the cave system that a local person teleported to us and started minning with us... which is basically like stealing our iron! I mean I guess its a public cave, but would you do that? I don't think so!

So that is our basic adventures so far! We will now be posting everyday that we play together! Talking about our adventures and everything! Each time its a new day, it will be a new person! Below is some quotes and pictures! We hope that you follow us and enjoy our blog! Our next two posts will be NH4 with the stats and her introduction and take on the project and then the next will be Bonejangle with his insight and the description of our next huge project since he is the project leader!

Quote Section:
1)
Bonejangle: "I lead a creeper into a cow and made it blow up... opps"

2)
Stephmiko: "NH4 look out for the insinuator!!"
Bonejangle: "Don't you mean incinerator!?"
Stephmiko: "Oh..."
Bonejangle: "Aren't you a little old to be making mistakes like that?"

3)
Stephmiko: "NH4 what's with the wall?"
NH4: (Laughs for 10 mins)
Stephmiko: "Are you ok?"
NH4: "Its those blasted spiders... the SPIDERS"
NH4: (Continues to Laugh)

NH4: "You better not be insinuating anything!"

6)
Bonejangle: "Look at that party over there! 2 creepers, a spider, and a skeleton!"
Stephmiko: "And they say racism isn't gone!" (During this conversation I mis-spoke racism)

7)
Stephmiko: "Why did a error occur?"
Bonejangle: "To get to the other side!"
